New Project – "Our National Opera Gems"
The Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater is launching a new project titled "Our National Opera Gems", which brings together the masterpieces of our national musical heritage.
The first concert within the framework of this project will take place on May 17 at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall named after Muslim Magomayev.
The concert program will feature selected pieces from the brightest opera works by Azerbaijani composers.
The concert, accompanied by the theater’s symphony orchestra and choir, will present performances of excerpts from operas by Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Muslim Magomayev, Zulfiqar Hajibeyov, Afrasiyab Badalbeyli, Gara Garayev, Jovdat Hajiyev, Jahangir Jahangirov, Vasif Adigozalov, Pike Akhundova, and Siyavush Karimi.
The pieces will be performed by the country’s renowned vocalists – People's Artists Samir Jafarov, Gulnaz Ismayilova, and Honored Artists Inara Babayeva, Farid Aliyev, Farida Mammadova, Ilaha Efendiyeva, Jahangir Gurbanov, Tayyar Bayramov, Arzu Aliyeva, as well as soloists Mahir Taghizade, Fahmin Ahmadli, Ravana Amiraslanli, Khayal Huseynov, Atesh Garayev, Fatima Jafarzade, and Sema Hamzayeva.
The conductor of the concert is Honored Artist Ayyub Guliyev, choir master is Honored Art Worker Sevil Hajiyeva, and the project director is Honored Art Worker Hafiz Guliyev.
