About event
“Sincere Dialogues”, a music project - Salman Gambarov (Azerbaijan),
Michel Godard (France),
Margriet Buchberger (Germany), Wu Wei (China)
The project has naturally grown up from the previous musical encounters with invited dialogue ‘interlocutors’, each of them valued as extremely versatileand subtle musician. It is a big honour to share with audience our music conversations with like-minded colleagues – emotionally spontaneous, and in the meantime, based on a profound spiritual contemplation.
Salman Gambarov (Azerbaijan)
Azerbaijani pianist Salman Gambarov conducts research tirelessly, and there is always paradox. This encyclopedically knowledgeable musician has developed his own hallmark over many years of experimentation – the hallmark of Salman Gambarov, which can be described thus: “in every familiar phenomenon, something new and unknown can always be found.” “Bakustik Jazz” – the group founded by Salman Gambarov in 1996, is a permanent process of research and development. Its main principle is to involve a variety of musicians; the personnel depend on the project of the time.
Michel Godard (France)
Michel Godard established himself as an extraordinarily versatile exponent of the tuba, pursuing a career in jazz and classical music. Today he is one of the most virtuoso tuba and serpent players in jazz as well as in improvised music.
In 1979 he picked up also the ancestor of the tuba, the serpent, an instrument with a Latin name derivated after its form - looking like a coiled snake. With this "second" instrument, Michel Godard has taken yet another step in broadening the field of expression in ancient music as well as in Jazz.
