Baku to Host IBA Champions’ Night, welcoming global stars of boxing and entertainment.
On July 10, Baku will host IBA Champions’ Night, an international boxing event taking place for the first time at Sea Breeze Resort. The evening will feature six exciting bouts, bringing together some of the world’s leading boxers.
Five of the six fights will feature Azerbaijani boxers. World Champion Subhan Mamedov (47.6 kg) will face Richard Garde of the Philippines. World Championships medalists Serkhan Aliyev (70 kg) and Saidjamshid Jafarov (72.6 kg) will take on Nurtas Azhbenov of Kazakhstan and Mikalai Vesialou of Belarus, respectively.
Bronze medalist at the European Games Tayfur Aliyev (60 kg) will face Khurshidbek Rasuljonov of Uzbekistan, while European U23 Championships semifinalist Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg) will face Hikmat Garayev of Russia. Each bout featuring an Azerbaijani boxer will be contested over six rounds.
The remaining contest will see Cheerav Ashalaev of Russia (76,2 kg) face Mikhail Dolgolevets of Belarus in an eight-round bout.
IBA Champions’ Night will begin at 7:00 p.m. local time.
