The Adventures of Pinocchio
About event
The play “The Adventures of Pinocchio,” which has been in the theater’s repertoire for many years, is based on the world-famous work by Carlo Collodi.
The one-part puppet show with the participation of artistic director Elena Maskhonashvili, artist Vakhtang Koridze and composer Shalva Maskhonashvili stands out for its unique style.
The first thing that catches your eye in stage work is the colorfulness of the scenery, the harmony of colors that conveys pleasant energy. A small curtain opens and the space becomes either Pinocchio's house or a puppet theater.
The authors of the play chose and brought to the stage some key moments, and not the entire plot of the tale. Master Ceppeto makes a wooden doll and calls it Pinocchio. The Cat and the Fox, the main characters of the play, want to take this wooden man to the puppet theater: “This is the place where you are freed from the painful task of making decisions, the decisions are made by those who hold the rope for you.”
