Ganja State National Drama Theater

Ganja State National Drama Theatre was founded on November 13, 1921, in Baku at the initiative and under the leadership of actor Hajiaga Abbasov.

From 1921 to 1925, it operated under the name “Tənqid-Təbliğ” (Theatre of Criticism and Propaganda), and from 1925 to 1932 as the “Baku Workers’ and Peasants’ Theatre.”

In December 1932, the entire theatre troupe was relocated to Ganja, where it continued its activity under the name “Red Banner Turkish Workers’ Theatre.”

Since 1990, the theatre has operated under the name Ganja State Drama Theatre.
