In accordance with the State Program “On the Development of Azerbaijani Cinema for 2008–2018,” one of the country’s oldest cinemas, “Nizami,” was ceremonially reopened on December 27, 2011, following extensive reconstruction works.
After renovation, the cinema was granted the status of a Cinema Center. Alongside its regular repertoire featuring the most notable new releases of world cinema, the venue began hosting national film premieres, as well as Cinema Days and Film Weeks of foreign countries.
Many other engaging events are planned for the future.
