Ilisu village in the Qakh District is located 12 km northeast of the city of Qakh, in one of the most picturesque areas of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. The flora and fauna of the surrounding area have preserved their pristine character, while the enchanting natural scenery continues to attract both local residents and visitors to Azerbaijan. Ilisu is one of the region’s oldest settlements and is situated 1,400 metres above sea level.

The Ilisu–Uludağ Tourism and Recreation Complex is located on a mountainside in Ilisu village, Qakh District. Covering an area of four hectares, the complex operates throughout the year. It includes a main building as well as one- and two-storey cottages constructed from stone and wood. The main building houses the complex’s office, a 150-seat café, a nightclub, an internet café and other service facilities. Deluxe and semi-deluxe accommodation is available for guests.

Ilisu is rich in historical landmarks. Tourist routes include visits to Sumugala Fortress, the ruins of ancient Caucasian Albanian temples, the settlements of Gum and Lekit along the historic Sheki road, St George’s Church, an ancient mosque and other places of interest. From the ruins of Shamil Fortress, visitors can see the Saribash Tower, located in the last settlement before the border with Dagestan. Guests can also enjoy therapeutic baths in the complex’s natural hot water.
