The concert I Am Jazzman is a collective performance featuring the finest representatives of the young generation of Azerbaijani jazz musicians, who, in different years, have become winners and laureates of the international I Am Jazzman competition. The competition has been held as part of the Baku Jazz Festival since 2006 and aims to discover talented performers and support their future artistic development.
Dini Virsaladze is a renowned Georgian pianist who first appeared before the public as a jazz pianist and composer in 1993. That same year, she participated in the Novosibirsk Jazz Festival, which profoundly changed the life of the young musician. Since then, she has performed in numerous jazz clubs and cafés and appeared in various television shows. For some time, she was the author and host of a jazz television program on the "Iberia" TV channel.
Since 2003, Dini has been performing with the Tbilisi Big Band under the direction of conductor Givi Gachechiladze. In 2006, the Tbilisi Big Band was awarded the title of Best Big Band of 2006 in Monte Carlo. The Board of Directors of the Monte-Carlo International Jazz Awards (MCIJA) expressed special gratitude to Ms. Dini Virsaladze, the keyboard player, for her valuable contribution to the work of the Tbilisi Municipal Concert Orchestra (Big Band) and for promoting jazz.
Since 2016, Dini Virsaladze has been a professor at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
At the Baku Jazz Festival, Dini will perform together with Azerbaijani jazz musicians, uniting the cultures of the two neighboring countries.
