On November 15, “Opera and Guitar Evening” will bring together the art of classical vocal performance and the rich, versatile sound of the classical guitar on one stage.
The evening will feature Fidan Hajiyeva, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan and a distinguished representative of Azerbaijani opera, young soloist Roya Aliyeva, as well as guitarists Javid Baku, Zaur Mammadov, Kamran Ahmadov, and Ayan Musayeva.
The program will include “Habanera” and “Chanson Bohème” from Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen”, Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s romance “Sensiz”, Balash’s aria from Fikret Amirov’s opera “Sevil”, Tofig Guliyev’s vocal works “Gizil uzuk” and “Axsham mahnisi”, alongside selected masterpieces from the world classical guitar repertoire.
Bringing together works from different styles and periods, the program explores the contrast and harmony between the dramatic and emotional power of operatic vocals and the delicate, refined, and versatile sound of the guitar.
“Opera and Guitar Evening” is a distinctive musical dialogue between two different forms of expression in classical music, brought together on one stage.
