As part of the “Azerbaijani Mugham” project of the International Mugham Center, “The Story of Instruments – What Does the Tar Say?…” is a musical and dramatic concert project that brings to the stage the story of the human being, time, memory, and the spirit through the lens of Azerbaijan’s traditional musical instruments.
The project’s main distinctive feature is that the tar, kamancha, qanun, and balaban are presented not merely as musical instruments, but as living characters, each with its own personality, memory, and story to tell.
Throughout the concert, the audience is invited to reflect on one question: “If musical instruments could speak, what would they tell us?”
This musical story invites the audience to reconnect with their own memories, roots, and spirit through the sounds of Azerbaijan’s traditional musical instruments.
