Lillebror is looking for a kindhearted person to make friends with. This becomes Karlsson who lives on the roof. Nobody believes in his friendship with Karlsson. His mother and sister Betan consider him a daydreamer. However, in the end Karlsson appears to them as well. They realize that Lillebror is an honest child who never deceives anyoneand tries to engage in good deeds. And this constitues the essence of the performance.
