The tale of the wooden boy has inspired many writers around the world and has been retold in numerous versions. A lonely old man carves a child out of wood, and the figure comes to life, experiencing a human destiny.
This production, staged in our theatre, captures the audience with its dynamic flow and adventurous storyline. Tolstoy shows the wooden son, Buratino, the harsh realities of life. To bring his father the golden key, he must overcome many difficult challenges.
Buratino remains loyal to his creator, Papa Carlo, and promises to grow into a smart, well-mannered child who will study at school. The theatre actors and the various characters he meets help him understand that hard work, talent, and intelligence are a person’s closest companions. Respect for elders and their wise guidance lights the way for children. It is thanks to these virtues that Buratino opens the treasure doors for Papa Carlo, enabling him to create a new theatre and gather talented actors around him.
