In this play, the outstanding playwright essentially presents a powerful idea of tolerance, placing people face to face in a conflict of moral values. The great Javid, combining his peace-loving sentiments with the idea of divine love and its eternity, created a remarkable work. Every viewer of the play seeks to clarify a personal question: am I taking the right position in this world? How much benefit do I bring to humanity?

Sheikh Sanan, for the sake of his first love, renounces his loved ones and his religion. He even agrees to clean a pigsty and wear a cross around his neck. However, fanatics and advocates of religious intolerance prevent him from uniting with Khumar. Therefore, the two lovers see salvation in suicide.
