On November 20-25 2019, the 6th International Baku Biennial of Contemporary Art “Aluminium” will be held in Baku. The biennial is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan.
The biennial will be organised in compliance with the Cultural Concept of the Azerbaijan Republic, popularization of development of the contemporary art and support of the creativities of the artists.
The art performances, video arts, photos, sculptures and installations of artists of Azerbaijan, Germany and Georgia will be demonstrated in this biennial.
The presentation of film about the “First Antarctica Biennial“ which has been held an organised by UNESCO in 2017, will be demonstrated. A conference “Contemporary art today; achievements, problems and perspectives” will be held.
The exhibitions will be held within the framework of the 6th International Baku Biennial of Contemporary Art “Aluminium” and will be organised in the palece of Shirvanshahs, the art gallery of the Museum Centre, Vajiha Samadova exhibition hall, the Center of Contemporary Art, Gallery “1969”, Gala State Historic- Ethnographic Reserve.
Besides, the biennial has been holding in Baku since 2003, and the artists, curators, art critics of the all world has participated in this event.
The 6th International Baku Biennial of Contemporary Art “Aluminium” is expected the participation of over 40 foreign artists and about 30 Azerbaijani artists.
