Describing the struggle between good and evil during the whole his work, Huseyn Javid created an image of a woman with universal human values in the character of mother Selma in the verse dram “Mother”. No matter how shocked she was, revealing that the guest she received was her son’s murderer, she showed patience and perseverance with the thought: “Guest comes from God”, “Guest must not be fallen”. Saying “You are safe” she demonstrates that she keeps her promise. 
Despite the fact that the novel has a tragic ending, amazing image of mother Selma leaves a deep mark in the memory of the audience.
