The upcoming premiere will be "The Five Manat Bride," a comedy based on the libretto by the renowned writer Mammad Said Ordubadi, with music by People's Artist Saeid Rustamov, and directed by the Honored Artist Asgar Asgarov.
This play, which revolves around domestic themes and creates unexpected and humorous situations while conveying deep meanings, has been staged multiple times at the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater from 1940 to 1994 under various directors and has been well-received by theater enthusiasts.
This new production features a cast that sets it apart from its predecessors. The ensemble includes People's Artists Ilham Namiq Kamal and Fatma Mahmudova, as well as Honored Artists Novruz Aliyev, Alekber Aliyev, Nadir Xasiyev, and Iqrar Salamov, among others.
The play will also feature the participation of the orchestra, choir, and ballet artists. The founding conductor of this delightful and savory performance is the Honored Artist Fakhraddin Atayev. The founding ballet masters are the Honored Artists Zakir and Yelena Agayev. The choir master is the Honored Artist Vaqif Mastanov. The founding artist is the Honored Artist Nabat Samedova. Other key members of the production team include conductor Samad Suleymanli, concert master Fidan Babayeva, and assistant director Tamilla Aslanova.
