Ilgar Fahmi’s “Shah Abbas Nameh” explores the life of the great Safavid ruler Shah Abbas and his struggle to strengthen the state. The production tells the story of how he saved the great Safavid dynasty from collapse, revived the state and transformed it into a powerful empire.
At the heart of the drama is Shah Abbas’s 42-year reign: his resolution of court conflicts, his struggle against rebellions by feudal emirs and foreign invasions, his recovery of previously occupied territories, and his consolidation of the Safavid state into the most powerful empire in the East.
