“The Gathering of Madmen” by the great thinker Jalil Mammadguluzadeh remains relevant in every era because of its subject matter. In this satirical drama, the author portrays people who try to present themselves as intelligent in society, while in reality they are mad. Doctor Lalbyuz, from whom everyone expects help, is in fact a foreigner who cannot even benefit himself.

In the performance, fanaticism, ignorance, and hypocrisy are the main targets of criticism. Pirpiz Sona and Molla Abbas, whom the “intelligent people” wish to stone, become a mirror revealing the darkness of the inner world of a group of ignorant people hiding behind religion.
