“Waiting for Godot”

Author: Samuel Beckett

Language: Azerbaijani

Duration: 1 hour 5 minutes

Age Group: 16+

Theme:

A hallmark of the Theatre of the Absurd, “Waiting for Godot” takes place entirely in a single location. The main characters, Estragon and Vladimir, spend the whole day sitting under a tree, waiting for someone named Godot. Yet, they don’t even know who Godot is or why they are waiting for him. At one point, two passersby — Pozzo and his servant, Lucky — stop to rest. After they leave, Didi and Gogo (nicknames for Vladimir and Estragon) return to sitting idly under the same tree, still waiting for Godot.

Night falls. Morning comes. And still… they wait.
