85 Years Later
Description
On September 6, 1941, the first concert of the Azerbaijan State Jazz Orchestra took place at the Baku Philharmonic Hall under the direction of Maestro Niyazi and composer Tofig Guliyev.
Eighty-five years later, on the same date and on the very same stage, Arzu Hasanli—former lead vocalist of the Jangi and Aypara groups, who has regularly represented Azerbaijan at international events—will present an original ethno-jazz program featuring her own compositions alongside renowned musicians of the genre.
The anniversary concert will also feature jazz singer Sanam Abdulazimzade, originally from Tabriz and currently based in Istanbul. She gained wide recognition for her memorable performance at the Kharibulbul Festival. Her repertoire includes works by both Azerbaijani and international composers.
The special guest of the evening will be the acclaimed tar virtuoso Shahriyar Imanov.
We warmly invite you to this remarkable ethno-jazz concert dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Azerbaijan State Jazz and to celebrate this historic milestone together.
