On May 17, a commemorative evening dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Agakhan Abdullayev (1950–2016), a prominent representative of national mugham art, People's Artist, personal pensioner of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, recipient of the “Shohrat” Order and the international “Golden Plane Tree” award, will be held at the International Mugham Center.

During this tribute evening to the unforgettable khananda, performances will be given by People's Artists Alim Qasimov, Mansum Ibrahimov, Teyyub Aslanov, Zabit Nabizade, Simara Imanova, Honored Art Worker Aqil Melikov, Honored Artists Elnara Abdullayeva, Ilkin Ahmadov, and winners of the Mugham TV Competition Vafa Orucova, Mirelem Mirelemov, Mammad Najafov, Huseyn Melikov, Nisbet Sadraeva, and Almakhanum Ahmadli.

Renowned cultural figures will also share their memories of the great artist. The singers will be accompanied by Rovshan Gurbanov (tar), Jeyhun Muradov (kamancha), Honored Artist Terane Aliyeva (qanun), Rafael Asgarov (balaban), Amil Mustafayev (nagara), Vasif Yusibli (oud), and Kamran Novruzov (bass tar).
