                                          Brief description

Ballet dedicated to famous Dutch author Hans Christian Andersen and narrates about real life stories that became source of inspiration of world wide known tales.

First act

Well-known taleteller receives an invitation from King of Denmark to visit palace reception. Author witnesses town’s day-to-day life scenes as he makes his way to the palace through holiday festivities of local residents.

Meeting with town’s dandy and village bacchanalian becomes the inspiration source of the tale “The Farm-Yard Cock and the Weather-cock”.

Arrogance and coldness of mother-aristocrat towards her child, warmth and love of down to earth florist towards an orphan inspired an author to write “Snow queen”. 

“Thumbelina” inspired by wedding celebration that ends as bride escapes unwanted rich groom.

Second act

Author attends palace reception where he witnesses scenes of palace aristocrats that become an inspiration for his world wide known stories.

Hesitance of palace nobleman towards his young wife, provokes romantic relationship between her and war hero attending reception inspires taleteller to write “The Steadfast Tin Soldier”.

Princesses’ cranky and arrogant behavior towards low class people and their attention builds foundation of “Magic pot”.

Intrigues and jiggery-pokery of palace pleasers and grandees misleading King and taking advantage of his kindness, become main idea of the tale “Emperor’s new clothes”. Taleteller awarded by royal medal for his honesty towards the king that opened his eyes to reality.

Celebration organized in author’s honor in the palace shows taleteller fairy tale truth where all these people just a characters for his stories. He tells the truth to children and adults via these characters.
