On the stage there is the writer’s desk. A candle is burning on it. His pen — Pen (Girl) and the sheet he wrote on — Sheet (Boy) are also lying on the table. A swallow is looking for the author of the play, the respected writer Andersen. Since she cannot find him, she tells the children that she will tell them this fairy tale herself.

In the magical story told by the swallow, a kind Woman who dreams of becoming a mother goes to a Magician. The Magician gives the Woman a wheat grain. The grain is planted in a flowerpot. However, the hero of our tale does not appear yet. At that moment a magical and very interesting children’s fairy tale begins to come alive on the stage, and Thumbelina comes to meet the children.

In this performance, full of exciting events, Thumbelina goes through many trials. Each time she is saved with the help of kind friends.

The fairy tale “Thumbelina” sends children an important message: in order to find your place in life, you must have a sincere heart and perform kind deeds. Then you will certainly achieve happiness.
