3rd CIS Games 2025: Volleyball

About event

The Russian Federation proposed the concept of hosting the CIS Games. On September 28, 2018, the Council of CIS State Leaders met in Dushanbe and approved the plan.

In addition to putting the CIS collaboration agreement in the realm of physical culture and sport into effect, the Games were organised to fortify the long-standing amicable relations between nations.

The goals of the Games are to preserve CIS national sports as a historical legacy, their popularisation and development at the international level, promote a healthy lifestyle, develop positive physical and moral qualities in young people, cultivate patriotism, the will to achieve goals, respect for history and folk traditions, and improve sports prowess and experience of the athletes competing in international competitions.

Volleyball is a highly active team sport that demands agility, coordination, and effective teamwork.

Played on a court divided by a net, two opposing teams aim to send the ball over and land it in the opponent’s area while defending their own side. Success in the game relies on well-executed passes, strong defensive blocks, and strategic attacks, all requiring sharp reflexes and excellent communication.

The sport is popular worldwide, played both indoors and on sandy beaches, and is a key event in international competitions, including the Olympic games. Beyond professional play, volleyball is valued for enhancing endurance, quick thinking, and collaboration, making it enjoyable for athletes of all levels.
