Ali and Nino
He is a Muslim. She is a Georgian princess.
Outside — revolution, war, the collapse of everything that once seemed eternal. Between them — something that should not have happened. Not because it was forbidden, but because it was impossible. And yet, it does.
Director Ilgar Safat resists turning this story into a polished legend. His Baku of the early 20th century is not a backdrop, but a fault line — between East and West, between a fading past and an undefined future. Everything here is fragile, on the edge, and it is precisely within this fragility that something irreversible is born.
No revolution can erase what happened between Ali and Nino — in this city, on these streets, in a time that will never return.
Baku remembers them. And they are waiting for you.
