The drama is an artistic and figurative glorification of the fighter for the national freedom and independence of our people, national unity. The drama content is as follows: Karabakh ... 18th century. Ibrahim Khan established his power in the Shusha fortress and tried to strengthen political-economic relations and friendly relations with both Iran and Russia. This policy of his causes first secret and then open displeasure in other khanates of Azerbaijan. Taking advantage of the situation, the Armenian community escalates the discontent between the khanates to the level of hostility. All this causes great disasters in Azerbaijan. Ibrahim khan believes in the sincerity of the tsar's policy and in the end he realizes that he was deceived. But it's too late. In the play "The Ruler and his Daughter", Ibrahim Khan is depicted as a complex, contrasting, tragic character in the vortex of social-political, family-domestic events. Ibrahim Khan sacrificed even his daughter Aghabeyim Agha to politics and married her to the ruler of Iran, Fatali Shah. However, this separation cannot tear Agabayim Agha's love for Karabakh from his heart. His famous verse, born from his homeland, sounds very modern and relevant today: "Even if Tehran is a paradise, Karabakh will not be forgotten!"
