The performance tells the story of the life and military path of one of humanity’s greatest conquerors — Timur. The central idea of the production focuses on national identity and self-awareness. History moves in cycles. The concept that everything eventually returns to its rightful place serves as the main driving force of the play.
The сюжет develops around the confrontation between two Turkic rulers — Timur and Tokhtamysh. An assassination attempt is made on Timur. Surviving the attack, he begins an investigation. His spy-dervishes report that the one behind the plot is Tokhtamysh, Khan of the Golden Horde. Timur refuses to believe it, as he himself had supported Tokhtamysh and placed him on the throne. After learning of his true intentions, Timur decides to wage war against him.
The thought that torments the Emir is: “Why do my brothers act this way?”
Timur believes that by preserving and protecting national identity, one can achieve everything.
The stage director of the performance is Honored Artist Bahruz Vagifoglu.
