Written in 1537 by the great master poet Muhammad Fuzuli, “Leyli and Majnun” is based on Arabic folklore and is considered one of the masterpieces of Azerbaijani literature celebrating divine love.
In this stage adaptation of the poem, the relationships between fathers and sons, the contrast between the younger generation and the old society, and the psychological and spiritual conflicts experienced by the characters are presented by the director in a distinctive artistic style.
