The best theaters of St. Petersburg will be participating in the "St. Petersburg Theatrical Seasons" festival, which will take place in Baku.

For the first time in Baku, from November 21st to 26th, 2023, as part of the Heydar Aliyev Year, with the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the XVII annual cross-cultural festival "St. Petersburg Theatrical Seasons" will be held. The festival aims to establish and develop cultural connections between St. Petersburg and other cities and art centers around the world. Within the framework of the festival, some of the most interesting performances from St. Petersburg theaters will be showcased, and the audience will get to know their creators.

The festival has been held since 2007. Over the course of 17 years, the performances of the "St. Petersburg Theatrical Seasons" have been showcased in Prague, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Marseille, Milan, Athens, and many other cities. In various years, the festival featured the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Lensovet Theatre, the "Comedian's Shelter" Theatre, the Big Puppet Theatre, and the G.A. Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater, among many others.

November 21st to 26th:

  • 18:00–22:00 — Exhibition "Heroes of the KUKFO Theater" (Age 6+)

November 21st:

  • 19:30 — Performance "The Marriage of Balzaminov," directed by A. Isakov. "Comedian's Shelter" Theatre (Age 16+)

November 22nd:

  • 19:30 — Performance "The Marriage of Balzaminov," directed by A. Isakov. "Comedian's Shelter" Theatre (Age 16+)

November 23rd:

  • 19:30 — Performance "Night of Helver," directed by Alexander Bargman, laureate of the State Prize of Russia. V.F. Komissarzhevskaya Saint Petersburg State Academic Drama Theater (Age 16+)

November 25th:

  • 19:30 — Performance "Wolves and Sheep," directed by Andrzej Bubene. Baltic House Theatre Festival (Age 16+)

November 26th:

  • 19:30 — Performance "Wolves and Sheep," directed by Andrzej Bubene. Baltic House Theatre Festival (Age 16+)

The festival will take place at the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Russian Drama Theater named after Samed Vurgun.
