The main theme of the play "The Seagull" is the struggle for courage and moral purity. "Those who are able to be brave in art win", the play made from dramatic events is the literary contribution of the outstanding playwright to humanity.

The conflict of the play is formed by the clash of generations: on the one hand, self-confident, ambitious Arkadina and Trigorin, on the other hand, young and inexperienced Treplyov and Zarechnaya, unknown to the theater community, lonely people with dashed dreams, hopes and who cannot find themselves in life...

A creative person's ego is defined by his fame. Chekhov's heroes have become slaves to their success and adoration. They know very well that they need others only as long as they exist in art. Nina doesn't even like Trigorini, she likes his presence on the stage.

The seagull is represented in world culture as a symbol of a free and pure spirit. Zarechnaya, who likens herself to this bird, is being destroyed by society as well as her failed dreams. In this context, what emanates from Chekhov's genius sounds like the cry of a seagull.
