Volunteer soldier Vugar, together with his fellow soldier Aslan, encounters an enemy soldier hiding in a ruined house in a liberated village. Throwing a grenade into the basement and killing him would take only a moment. However, after a brief exchange, the emotional turmoil of the enemy soldier caught between life and death causes Vugar to change his mind. A sense of compassion awakens in him, and he decides to take the enemy soldier prisoner.
The play presents a generalized image of the Azerbaijani soldier — a man who is able to remain humane even in the most difficult circumstances and who, through his compassion, courage, and other human qualities, demonstrates moral superiority over the enemy soldier.
