Monument of "Diri baba tomb" in the balance of "Basgal" State Historical - Cultural Reserve

About event

Monument was built in 1402 in honor of Diri Baba (real name Pir Muhammad) by the order of Shirvanshahs ruler
Sheikh Ibrahim I.
The monument was built in Shirvan Absheron architectural style.
Why is the tomb called the diri baba (living grandfather) ?
One day the sufi sheikh Diri Baba - Pir Muhammad (comes to worship in the cave on the second floor - Sufis go into seclusion for 40 days, distance themselves from the world and cleansed themselves from sins) comes to worship in the cave and dies during worship.  His students are waiting for him for 40 days, but Baba does not come. When they approach the cave, they see that the surroundings are radiating light, and there is a nice smell coming from inside.. they realized that Baba has reached the status of a priest and he is already a holy person.  (they preserved him for 300 years, and then it was secretly buried) his body has not decayed for many years, that's why he is called Diri Baba.. after his death, Shirvansah Ibrahim ordered to build a monument...
