EMIN – an Azerbaijani singer, entrepreneur and property developer born in Baku on 12 December 1979. He spent his childhood in Moscow before studying in Switzerland and the United States, graduating from Marymount Manhattan College in New York. His recording career began with the release of Still in 2006. The albums Wonder and After the Thunder helped EMIN expand his English-speaking audience, with pop, soft rock and soul influences playing a prominent role in their sound. In 2012, he performed during the interval of the Eurovision Song Contest final in Baku, followed by an appearance at the televised Miss Universe competition in 2013.
EMIN received a World Music Award in 2014 and later collaborated with Sony/ATV and Warner Music. “Boomerang”, recorded with Nile Rodgers, entered the Top 10 of Billboard’s dance chart, while David Foster produced several of his English-language projects. “Камин”, “Проститься”, “Лунная ночь” and “Сбежим в Баку” are among the defining songs in his Russian-language catalogue. In 2018, he received the title of People’s Artist of Azerbaijan.
Alongside his music career, EMIN has worked for many years across real estate, retail, hospitality and entertainment. From 2001 to 2023, he held various senior positions at Crocus Group before focusing on Agalarov Development, the company he founded. He serves as its president and is the creator and owner of Sea Breeze, a resort city located on the Caspian coast. EMIN is also the founder of the international music festivals ZHARA and Dream Fest. In December 2024, he was elected Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council.
