Javid Kurbanov – an Azerbaijani stand-up comedian and screenwriter known for his contributions to television comedy and his original live performances. He studied at the Azerbaijan State Art School named after Azim Azimzade and began his comedy career in KVN. His experience in KVN helped him develop his skills in comedy writing, stage performance and audience engagement. He later worked with the creative teams behind television shows such as “Comedy Club,” “Nasha Russia” and “ProjectorParisHilton.” A significant chapter of his screenwriting career involved the comedy series “KhB,” featuring Garik Kharlamov. Kurbanov also contributed lyrics to satirical songs performed by Semyon Slepakov. After spending many years writing comedy for television and other performers, he increasingly focused on his own stand-up shows. His performances explore everyday life, family relationships, memories of Baku and the humour found in familiar situations. In 2026, he introduced his solo show “Natural Intelligence,” examining human behaviour in an increasingly technology-driven world.
