Serdar Ortaç – a Turkish singer born in Istanbul. His professional recording career began with “Karabiberim”, a song he wrote while working in radio. Included on his 1994 debut album “Aşk İçin”, the track quickly established Ortaç as a major name in Turkish pop. “Yaz Yağmuru”, “Bilsem Ki”, “Okyanus”, “Çakra” and “Mesafe” formed the central part of his catalogue throughout the 1990s and 2000s. “Çakra”, “Mesafe” and “Nefes” received MÜ-YAP certifications following strong commercial sales. In addition to his own recordings, Ortaç is known for writing songs performed by other Turkish artists.
