Miri Yusif – an Azerbaijani singer, rapper, songwriter and People’s Artist of Azerbaijan. He began his music career in the 1990s as a member of Dəyirman and became one of the first widely recognised figures in Azerbaijani hip-hop. He later pursued a solo career, combining pop, hip-hop, R&B, soul and reggae with melodic elements of Azerbaijani music. “Bilməm”, “Yoxam Mən”, “Ağ Təyyarə”, “Səndən1Dənədir”, recorded with Röya, and “Qal”, featuring Nigar Jamal, are among his most popular songs. His repertoire includes both energetic rhythmic tracks and more lyrical, emotional material. Through his live performances, concert programmes and ability to bring different musical styles together, he has become one of the most recognisable figures on the Azerbaijani music scene.
