CONCERTO ON ARABIAN THEMES FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA

The evening opens with Oh To Believe in Another World, William Kentridge’s visual response to Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, performed live by the BIAF Festival Orchestra under Dmitry Sitkovetsky.

In the second half, the focus shifts from Elmira Nazirova’s presence in Kentridge’s imagery to her own music. Farhad Badalbeyli is the soloist in the Concerto on Arabian Themes for Piano and Orchestra by Fikret Amirov and Elmira Nazirova, with Fuad Ibrahimov conducting the BIAF Festival Orchestra.
