Piano day: Bach, Chopin, Ravel

About event

✨Join us in celebrating Piano Day on March 28th for an evening of iconic classical music in the incredibly atmospheric Hall of Chamber and Organ Music of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic (Kirche) in the heart of Baku. Come and enjoy a musical soirée filled with a charming fusion of the  big names of classics – Bach, Chopin, Ravel,  performed by the talented Saida Tagi-zadeh, an exceptional Azerbaijani pianist who has graced stages from Carnegie Hall to Seoul Philharmonic.

In this program, Saida takes listeners on a musical journey, starting from the majestic Chaconne by Bach arranged by Busoni, through the emotional depths of Chopin with his captivating "Ballade Cycle," to the refined Sonatina by Ravel. This program not only showcases Saida's technical prowess but also her ability to deeply convey the emotional spectrum of the musical pieces, creating an unforgettable experience.

Piano Day is an annual international celebration of piano music, founded by a group of like-minded German composer Niels Frahm in 2015. It is held in all corners of the world every 88th day of the year - according to the number of keys on the piano.

The festival's goal is to create a platform for projects related to the piano, to promote, develop and continue the exchange of centuries-old experience in piano art. Piano Day invites all piano lovers to concerts in the participating cities.

Nils Fram, composer, project initiator:

— Why does the world need a Piano Day? For many reasons. But, first of all, to honour the instrument itself and all those associated with it: performers, composers, piano creators, tuners, and, most importantly, listeners.

At the end of March, a wide variety of events will be held around the world, based on performances by contemporary pianists.

We invite you to the Piano Day festival in Baku - Saida Tagi-zadeh unites global cultures through music, showcasing unparalleled talent and profound artistic vision, and will present her touching, exciting and stunning performance.

Brilliant classical music, improvisations, an immense range of emotions and feelings.

This amazing musical celebration is an integral part of the cultural life of Baku!

The concert organisers are the creative agency RED EVENTS & Distribution ltd, which makes exceptional cultural events in ancient mansions, on rooftops, in greenhouses and in other most atmospheric venues of Azerbaijan, throughout Russia, Europe, Great Britain and other countries.
