About the play:
“Lady Macbeth” is not about power or the throne. These are merely a lure, a decoration behind which the inner world of a human being is revealed—a person who strangely combines psychological fragility and incredible physical strength.
Macbeth, under whose assault entire armies fell, who killed his enemies without blinking, now goes insane after killing a single person. Under Lady Macbeth’s pressure, he loses control and his willpower. The strong warrior gradually turns into a coward. He is attacked not by swords or spears, but by words, doubts, cunning, anger, thirst for power, and suggestion.
And then the question arises, which cannot be answered unequivocally: was the witches’ prophecy destiny, or did destiny start unfolding only when it was spoken aloud? Was it a prophecy, or a suggestion he believed in, which caused events to take their course?
