Stage Director: Ayshad Mammadov (Honored Artist)
Performer: Ilgara Tosova
Genre: Psychological one-woman drama
Duration: 50 minutes

Actress Ilgara Tosova, inspired by Letter to the Colonel, created her own dramaturgical work that goes beyond the original, reflecting her personal vision and emotions.

The central character is a Woman — cheerful and optimistic by nature. However, life suddenly confronts her with severe trials, as if placing her entire existence inside a fragile crystal vase that could shatter at any moment. Despite her efforts to become an actress, she fails to achieve her dream. Just when everything seems lost, her son is born.

She finds happiness as the wife of a colonel and as a mother. Yet this happiness does not last long — her son dies in an accident. The woman becomes not only physically but also emotionally isolated. Even her beloved husband, the colonel, can no longer reach her heart. These hardships turn into deep psychological trauma.

The psychological drama “Letter to the Colonel”, written for a solo performance, is performed by the author herself.

The main message of the play is that material difficulties cannot destroy a person. True suffering begins when one becomes spiritually alone. Mutual understanding, emotional and financial support, and inner richness can become a person’s salvation.
