Based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novella "Uncle's Dream," this stage production is a thought-provoking comedy about ambition, vanity, and moral choice.
The story unfolds in a small provincial town. Maria Alexandrovna, one of the town’s most influential women, is determined to marry her daughter to a wealthy and elderly prince. To achieve her goal, she resorts to a series of clever schemes and manipulations. However, unexpected events soon turn all her carefully crafted plans upside down.
As the story progresses, the characters gradually reveal their true nature. Beneath the humorous situations lie human weaknesses, moral emptiness, and the relentless pursuit of wealth and social status. With subtle wit and irony, the play criticizes society’s false values and obsession with material success. It entertains the audience while also encouraging reflection.
