Neon art artist and decorative painter Farid Alekperov has opened the “Farhouse” Neon House Museum. According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the unique neon house museum located in Novkhani consists of two floors, and the artist himself lives in the house he created. In addition, there is an industrial-style area located slightly below ground level that functions as a small exhibition hall. It displays not only Alekperov’s works but also pieces created by his friends and fellow artists. One of the distinctive features of Farhouse is that it brings together different forms of art—from sculpture and metal engraving to painting and stained glass—combined with neon patterns.
The neon paints used by Alekperov are barely visible or not visible at all in daylight or regular electric lighting. However, when the lights are turned off and special ultraviolet lighting is used, visitors are immersed in a parallel, mystical, and extraordinarily beautiful reality.
Neon art is based on the effect of neon paint reflecting under ultraviolet light. With the help of light illusions and 3D effects, paintings created with neon paint appear to come to life.
