Akcent – a Romanian dance-pop music project founded by Adrian Sînă in 1999. During the 2000s, the act became one of the most recognisable names in Eastern European pop and club music. “Kylie”, “That’s My Name” and “Stay with Me” brought the project widespread recognition beyond Romania. Its music combines dance-pop, eurodance, house and electropop with memorable choruses and energetic rhythms. The songs are shaped for both radio and club audiences. Although the line-up changed several times, the project has continued as its founder’s solo act since 2013. By maintaining a recognisable European dance-pop sound, it has played a notable role in bringing Eastern European dance music to an international audience.
