Aygun Kazimova – an Azerbaijani singer, songwriter and actress. She was born in Baku on 26 January 1971. Kazimova began gaining wider recognition after winning the “Baku Autumn–88” music competition in 1988. From the late 1990s onward, she released a series of albums and pop hits, later becoming one of the most recognisable and influential figures in Azerbaijani pop music. Her repertoire combines contemporary pop, dance rhythms and melodic elements associated with Azerbaijani musical culture. She is also known for her distinctive stage image, large-scale concert productions and international music projects.
