Calvin Harris – a Scottish DJ and music producer whose real name is Adam Richard Wiles. He began creating electronic music as a teenager and secured his first professional deal after sharing early recordings online. His 2007 debut album, “I Created Disco”, and the tracks “Acceptable in the 80s” and “The Girls” introduced him to the British music market. “Ready for the Weekend” further developed his combination of vocals, synthesisers and house production. The 2012 album “18 Months” reached number one in the United Kingdom and set a chart record as the first album to generate nine Top 10 singles. On “Motion”, “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1” and “Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2”, Harris explored festival EDM, dance-pop, funk and disco in different forms. His international collaborators include Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, The Weeknd, Frank Ocean and Pharrell Williams. “We Found Love” with Rihanna became a global hit and its music video won a Grammy, while “Sweet Nothing” and “Miracle” received nominations in dance categories. By combining house production with radio-oriented pop songwriting, Harris became a central figure in bringing modern British dance music into the global mainstream.
