Duman – a Turkish rock band formed in Istanbul in 1999 by Kaan Tangöze, Ari Barokas and Batuhan Mutlugil. Tangöze and Barokas had previously played together in the United States as members of Mad Madame before returning to Turkey and starting a new project. Duman’s music combines the guitar-driven sound of alternative rock and grunge with melodic elements drawn from Anatolian music. The albums Eski Köprünün Altında, Belki Alışman Lazım and Seni Kendime Sakladım defined the band’s early period, followed by Duman I, Duman II and Darmaduman. After a lengthy break between studio albums, the group released Kufi in 2024.
