Nigar Jamal

Nigar Jamal – an Azerbaijani singer born in Baku on 7 September 1980. She studied music and piano from an early age and has lived in London since 2005. In 2011, Jamal represented Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Eldar Gasimov. Their song “Running Scared” won the competition, giving Azerbaijan its first Eurovision victory. Jamal later continued her solo career, releasing songs influenced by pop and R&B. Her music combines Azerbaijani elements with contemporary Western pop production.
