Zulfiyya Khanbabayeva – an Azerbaijani singer who studied theatre directing at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts. In 1988, she reached the final of the Baku Autumn music competition. She joined Vagif Garayzadeh’s group Aypara in 1994 before beginning a solo career. Her first music video, “Demirəm”, was released in 1999, followed by her debut studio album, “Gecə”, in 2000. She later released “Sən Gedən Gündən”, “Qəlbinə Yol”, “Sənsiz” and “Dəniz”. In 2005, she performed across several Azerbaijani cities as part of the “Canım Məmləkətim” tour. She received the title of Honoured Artist in 2003 and People’s Artist of Azerbaijan in 2008.
