“Family Pattern: An Azerbaijani Story”

The performance opens with a scene of a peaceful family home. A woman is weaving a carpet, while the rhythmic sound of the loom fills the space. The father returns home carrying a stalk of wheat, a symbol of prosperity and hard work. A kelaghayi hanging above the cradle recalls the ancient symbol of a daughter and the continuity of family traditions.

Through a ritual of water, thread, and color, the carpet patterns seem to come alive, revealing the magic of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.

War disrupts this harmony, and the lights fade. Yet the horse motif woven into the carpet becomes a symbol of hope and return. The father comes back home, and the family is reunited. The performance concludes with the enduring spirit of love, resilience, and hope that defines Azerbaijan.
