“Truth said to me: ‘Speak,’ commanded — and I spoke.
My words became an epic, repeated on people’s lips.”

It is a spring morning in Shamakhi. The city is filled with the scent of blossoms, and the Pirsaat River flows quietly. Sanam, with sorrow in her heart, bids farewell to her husband as he leaves on a long journey, accepting her fate with silent grace.
In the distance, Shahkhandan strokes his horse, realizing that this road will not be easy for his brother Nasimi. For Nasimi, this journey is not merely travel — it is a spiritual trial. Everywhere he goes, his mother’s prayer follows him; her heart is with him always.
At sunset, within the ancient fortress walls, young Hurufis gather, waiting anxiously for the message their Master will bring. Each reads from books filled with mysteries; Nasimi’s verses echo, the pages of Kursiname are turned, and this knowledge inspires their search for truth.
Far away, in the magnificent city of Samarkand, festivities are underway, and even the stern Teymur finds peace that day. Meanwhile, Nasimi arrives in Tabriz and asks familiar merchants about calligraphers and their art.
Yet these are dangerous times: from Shirvan to Anatolia, uprisings flare, persecutions grow stronger, and fear lurks at every step. In the Mamluk palace, a secret plot against him is already unfolding. His free mind and quest for truth threaten his enemies. They weave lies and slander to destroy him.
In a damp, airless, windowless cell, Nasimi sits in chains. Every stone, every corner of that prison is dear to him — for though confined, his soul remains free. In his memory, the faces of his loved ones appear one by one, passing before his eyes like visions.
The square of Aleppo is crowded; the executioner awaits the order. Nasimi’s poetic spirit rises like an angel as he faces the accusations of his enemies. Lightning flashes in the sky — as if the heavens are ready to wash away the blood of the innocent. The poet and his words are hanged; on this day, everyone in the square bears guilt.
I am the Truth!
The Truth is within me!
I speak the Truth!

This poem is like a chronicle of Nasimi’s final days — it holds his thoughts, his courage, and the tragedy of a man who dared to be the voice of truth in an age of darkness.
